Sales Executive Ref 0201 The Company Alongside its commercial marine activity, our client is involved in a number of government level maritime safety and security issues. Responding to the recent increase in piracy and hijacking on the high seas, the company has established itself as a prime mover in the IMO's Long Range Tracking and Identification (LRIT) initiative and is a leading provider of LRIT conformance testing worldwide. Founded in 1998, the organisation is a global operator with 60 plus staff in offices in London and Hong Kong, and a network of distributors and service centres worldwide. The London office has over 50 people, and a cosmopolitan profile whereby half the staff covers approximately 16 nationalities and 20 languages. The position They are constantly improving their existing products and developing new applications. As their business grows, they need more bright, committed, ambitious and hard-working people who want to grow and develop with them. The client is currently looking to recruit one or two experienced graduates who will join them specifically to support their Business Development and Product Development Teams in delivering new products to market. The successful candidate/s are expected to bring intelligence, enthusiasm, a substantial body of knowledge about the shipping industry, and the willingness to learn. The client will provide training, development and the opportunity for the successful candidate/s to move around the organization, work in different projects and cross-functional teams in a leading-edge company within the industry. The position is open to applicants that must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years experience in the maritime industry and have a graduate or post-graduate degree in any maritime business-related subject. We would be very interested to hear from people who also have commercial shipping or practical sea-going experience. The position will be based in the company's West London office. Role summary Depending on your strengths, you could be working with the Commercial Marine team undertaking product and competitor research for new product development, or working on new technology with the Product Development team. You could be assigned to Finance to analyse profitability of different product lines, or to Logistics to assess supplier contracts and service level agreements. You could be asked to brief the CEO and then accompany him to a conference on any number of issues ranging from maritime pollution prevention to piracy. Your profile
