Customer Service Coordinator Ref 0265

Location: London.

The Company

Our client is one of the world's leading container shipping companies, operating a fleet of 350 ships. It has over 10,000 employees in more than 600 agencies and offices worldwide.

The company's London office is now looking to employ a Customer Service Coordinator that will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of Customer Service with focus on specific trades. This is a dynamic role in a well run organisation that supports its staff and offers very good career prospects both in the UK and oversee.

The Role

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Department Supervisor and will be responsible for;

  • Carrying out all aspects of Customer Service, including Freighting, Allocation Management, Head Office non-Sales Contact and Bookings.
  • Maintaining and keeping under review the weekly space required to fulfil the company's monthly allocations by service, including weekly forecasts.
  • Ensuring that bookings are taken accurately and booking confirmations are issued within 2 hours notifying any department required regarding ANY Special requirements.
  • To action all INTTRA bookings for the department within a 2 hour period of receipt.
  • Assisting the trade Supervisor with preparation of monthly reports and market analysis.
  • Maintaining regular communication with appropriate port offices.
  • Responding to all non-freight related queries.
  • Processing all supplier invoice charges.
  • Making sure that all bookings possible are Auto-freighted.
  • Making sure all freight rates are entered.
  • Being the focal point for Transport and Hazardous queries; maintaining specific trade area's hazardous transport file and ensuring no haulage is undertaken without IMCO's acceptance from the line.
  • Undertaking as necessary ratings and FMC filings if required for US trade only.
  • Supporting sales member's of the team in times of peak periods, holidays and illness
  • Acting as back up for the Transport Coordinator by coordinating CTR booking flow and liaison with CTR control LPL.
  • Assisting or taking the lead in the supervisor's absence.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will have;

  • Export Booking experience on front line dealing directly with customers
  • Trade knowledge of USA - Filing FMC tariff rates and awareness of consequences / fines, essential.
  • Caribbean trade knowledge
  • Awareness of INTTRA booking requirements
  • Hazardous Knowledge and cert for IMDG Awareness course
  • Tariff / Rating expertise of trades
  • Supervisory experience

Remuneration
Depending on experience, the company offers a salary of £25,000.
