Director and Chief Executive Officer - c £30k pa (Part-time) Ref 0305 London After many years of significant development our CEO of the Business Council for Africa, (BCA) Hamish McGregor has sadly decided to retire. The BCA is now seeking a replacement who is an experienced executive to head a small team of professionals and volunteers for their London HQ with the following skills and experience:-
A second language, such as French or Portuguese would also be an advantage, but is not essential. Candidates will be expected to have a UK or European passport or indefinite right to remain in the UK Those interested should send CVs to jamcg@bcafrica.co.uk to arrive before 11 July 2011. Additional informaton: The Business Council for Africa, (BCA) West & Southern seeks an experienced executive to head a small team of professionals and volunteers at the central London office and representatives in twenty African countries. Established for over fifty years and respected for its depth of knowledge and strong diplomatic links, the Business Council for Africa, West & Southern has expanded significantly both regionally in Africa and with its range of activities in London. The new Director and CEO will be expected to continue the development of the BCA W&S, promoting the exciting opportunities in Africa and supporting the modern needs of Africa- facing business. Reporting to the Chairman and the BCA Board, the role covers operations, financial management, marketing and business development. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate leadership, business development skills and be able to communicate at all levels with business executives, government and the diplomatic sector. There will be some travel to Africa and the need to attend diplomatic receptions and business functions and conferences in London and Brussels. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate; a working knowledge of trade or business in the region and an interest in regional and political issues. A second language, such as French or Portuguese would also be an advantage, but is not essential. The position could particularly suit a recently retired executive looking to retain an interest in business or someone looking for a secondment.
